Life in Melbourne & Sydney

I got home safely on Sunday with a luggage filled with nougats. I am getting things sorted out. The router at home is down. QQ fell and scratched his cheek. Work is piling up in the office. Thank goodness for helpful colleagues who assist to hold the fort while I was gone and it made work quite a breeze. I was fortunate that an ex colleague who just got back from Angola, came and took me out for a nice scrumptious dinner last night. Ah.. life is busy as ever the moment I get back to Kuala Lumpur.

It’s great to be home, but my heart and soul are left in Melbourne. Melbourne is a well organized city. It is so diverse with people from all walks of life and every part in the world. It seems that, Melbourne is made of every small little parts from the world around. I was surprised to find that Vietnamese is the second most spoken language in Melbourne after English! Our government should be ashamed of itself for promoting Malaysia incessantly as a harmonious country with only three major races!

In Melbourne, I think I met more Asians compared to Europeans! Everyone seems to be enjoying their living space and willing to share it with you. That was how I felt when I was loitering in the streets in this fabulous city.

It is life itself to be in Melbourne. I never felt so relaxed. Everyone there seems to enjoy their work very much. From the street artists to the waiters; to the volunteers working at info booth to the tram drivers, the tour guides to the men in suits.

I visited Sydney too during my two weeks stay in Australia. Like Melbourne, Sydney is also a metropolitan with diverse culture and all sorts of people from all over the world. I was there for four days and three nights and didn’t have time to explore the city further. I went to a few touristy places and the scenes were breathtakingly beautiful. I am planning to write more when I have the time.

Thank to those who are concern; mom is okay and her voice is as loud as ever. She even dyed her hair red – accidentally! She said, she wanted black and it ended up red. I said she looked modern and fabulous!

Now, I had to get back to work…. even the tea lady commented that I didn’t comb my hair since yesterday. Imagine the haphazardness in the office! Kecoh habis!
