Housebreak
On Saturday, as soon as we gotten home from Penang, my sis discovered that the side window to our house was broken.
Alarmed, I told her to quickly run inside to check what were stolen. I followed closely from behind and was stunned when sis screamed that even the door and grill were not locked. I quickly gestured at the Mechanic to come, in case someone is still inside the house. He just stood there like a bloody idiot. I felt like giving him a tight slap.
As soon as we got into the house, brother ran upstairs to check if his lap top is gone too. I kept my fingers crossed. Thank God, his is still upstairs, left untouched.
My 4 year-old IBM R40 which I painstakingly paid RM4,900/- for with my hard earned money is gone. I am not saddened that it’s gone. I am sad that earlier pictures of Little Jumbo are gone. So are some recent pictures of family gathering for my aunt’s birthday party. I thank God that I did some back up for pics till June 2007 and some of my best pictures are still safely tucked away in the cyberspace.
My cousin’s IBM was stolen too. His was a gift from my uncle but it was in bad condition that he had to reformat it almost every other month. He didn’t mind that it got stolen too.
I couldn’t get any sleep at all when I discovered house keys were also stolen from the house. I should thank my lucky stars that the thief overlooked and didn’t take my car.
I wasn’t upset that the lap top is gone. I was very upset with my family members’ indifference. They took this matter way too lightly and merely added a pad lock onto the grill. Hello? The whole house keys are gone and yet they could just sit there and just added a pad lock to the grill.
I am taking time off tomorrow to get a locksmith to change all locks to the main doors.
Sometimes, it would cost you heart attack to stay with the family who think they are invincible.
All are not lost though. I am lucky to be able to access the internet from the office. Thanks to the hedonistic me, I kept my 50 favorite shots in office, so I could still load them from here. But expect sporadic updates till I get myself a brand new lap top… my brother is getting me a unit from Lenovo. Woo Hoo!
