Of Teddy Bear and Chilli Seeds

Another bout of weird dreams this weekend.

The dreams were short and precise. I couldn’t recall the details of the first dream. But towards the end before my brain reach consciousness, I was given a handful of chilli seeds on my right hand. Instead of sowing little by little, I throw everything into one spot and ended up regretting it.

This morning, I dreamt I was at a shopping mall. I bought a large beanie teddy bear in soft brown curly fur. It was rather huge, but it felt light.

I remember my conscience was telling me that I am wasting money buying a teddy for myself. But it wasn’t for me. It was for a friend.

Then I woke up.

I googled for the meanings.

Chili
To see or eat chili in your dream, symbolizes intense passion and raw emotion.

Seed
To see seeds in you dream, symbolizes fertility, heritage, and potential. It also represents the continuity of life. Alternatively, it relates to the human psyche and soul. An idea has been planted in your mind and new experiences are created.

Sowing
To dream that you are sowing seeds, represents new beginnings or a major project for which you are laying the groundwork for. The dream may also be a metaphor for sex or some sexual act.

Teddy Bear
To see or receive a teddy bear in your dream, suggests a regression to an earlier state. It symbolizes lost security, comfort, companionship and implies that you need to be reassured and taken care of. You may be reminiscing about early childhood memories. Alternatively, a teddy bear signifies an immature relationship.

Mall
To dream that you are at the mall, represents your attempts in making a favorable impression on someone. The mall is also symbolic of materialism and the need to keep up with the trends, fads, and/or the latest technology.

Buying
To dream that you or someone is buying something, represents your acceptance of an idea, condition, or situation. Consider what item you are buying for additional analysis.

My own deduction of the dreams

There is a desire or passion to experience something new and has potential. Probably I am just too tired of the mediocre life that I am living now and wish for more. Probably it’s time to end celibacy? LOL. Yeah yeah. I can even “hear” your goose bumps from here. Okay. Wipe the silly thoughts of your mind, please.

As for the buying a teddy for a friend, I guess I have come to a point to recheck my relationships or friendships. It didn’t help either that in this dream, I bought the teddy bear for a friend who had caused me so much heartaches. It got intensified as our goals and purposes in life deviated as we plod along this life. I guess as we grow older, our priorities changed. Certain actions or behaviors of this friend were way beyond my comprehension. Sometimes, I don’t understand what we have in common that made us stick as friends for so long.

A friend once told me, when you become friends with somebody, you better not have expectations. If you start creating expectations for a friend, you would end up losing him or her. I guess she has a point there. But I think everyone just couldn’t help but to place expectations or “price tag” on ourselves. The higher your “price tag” or expectations, the harder it is to please you.

Before I deviate from my deductions, well, I think it’s time to reassess myself as a friend, before I start reassessing others.
